DALLAS, Texas - Metropolitan State University of Denver opened the 2015 season with a 2-0 win over West Texas A&M at Dallas Baptist University on Thursday evening. The Roadrunners are now 14-1 in their season-opening games over the past 15 seasons.
MSU Denver dominated play throughout the contest, outshooting the Lady Buffs 23-to-6. They finally found the net in the 78th minute when freshman
Korena Perales (Aurora, Colo./Eaglecrest H.S.) scored.
Noemy Polanco (Long Beach, Calif./Lakewood H.S.) pushed the lead to 2-0 just one minute later with a strike of her own.
Breanna Flores (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert H.S.) made one save for her ninth career shutout in goal.
The Roadrunners take on Dallas Baptist on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT.
