Denver - The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team fell to Colorado School of Mines 61-54 Saturday night at the Auraria Event Center. The Roadrunners are now 7-10 overall and 5-6 in the RMAC. The Orediggers improved to 13-2 overall and 11-0 in the RMAC.
The Roadrunners were led in scoring by sophomore
Hannah Stipanovich (St. Louis, Mo./Clayton H.S.) with a total of 14 points. She was followed by
Jaelynn Smith (Denver, Colo./East H.S.) with 12 points and
J'Nae Squires-Horton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek H.S.) with 11 points.
Colorado School of Mines of led by Courtney Martin with 20 points and eight rebounds.
MSU Denver was led in rebounds by Stipanovich with ten rebounds. She was followed by
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) with seven rebounds.
The Orediggers outshot the Roadrunners shooting 34.4 percent from the field to MSU Denver's 31.7 percent.
The Roadrunners will travel to South Dakota on January 22 where they will face Black Hills State at 5:30 p.m.
