Greeley, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's tennis team opened the 2016 spring season with a 7-0 loss at Northern Colorado.

"Even though we came up short today, I felt that the team competed really well," said head coach Daniel Hangstefer.  "I am excited to see what they will accomplish this season."

Despite the inclement weather, the Roadrunners were able to complete the match indoors.  Senior Kasey Love (Daytona Beach, Fla./Spruce Creek H.S.) was the only member of the team to take a set from her Northern Colorado opponent.  Love fell 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 3 singles position.

With the loss, MSU Denver fall to 4-4 on the season.  Northern Colorado improves to 2-0 on the season.

MSU Denver will travel to Fort Collins, Colo. On Saturday, February 6 to face Colorado State at 5 p.m.
