Denver - The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team fell to Colorado Mesa Friday night at the Auraria Event Center 72-60. The Roadrunners record fell to 7-7 overall and 5-3 in RMAC. The Mavericks improved to 9-5 overall and 5-3 in RMAC
The Roadrunners were led by sophomore Peter Moller who scored 12 points and had three rebounds. Â
Junior Andre Harris (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb H.S.) finished the game with 10 blocks and sophomore Bounama Keita (Saint-Louis, Senegal/Impact Basketball Academy (Fla.)) had four blocks. Â The Mavericks were led by Ryan Stephan who scored 27 points and had 13 rebounds.The game remained tight throughout the first half with freshman Enrique Cortes Zotes hitting a three-pointer with 1:30 left to tie it at 26-26. Â Each team would score a basket each before going into the locker rooms with a score of 28-28. The Roadrunners had five blocks in the first half with four of those coming from sophomore

The second half of the game was just as back-and-forth as the first. Â The Mavericks built a lead that the Roadrunners would be able to overcome. Â The game ended 72-60.
The Roadrunners next game will be Saturday, January 9 at 7 p.m. when they take on Colorado School of Mines at the Auraria Event Center.Â
