Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's soccer team (7-5-1, 5-3-1 RMAC) fell to South Dakota Mines (2-10-0, 2-7-0 RMCA) 2-1 on Friday, October 14 on parents & family day at the Regency Athletic Complex.
The Roadrunners controlled possession the majority of the first half. MSU Denver nearly notched a goal in the 12th minute when senior
Josh Belfrage (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista H.S.) turned the defender and took a shot on goal. Hardrocker goalkeeper Kyle Daledovich made a tremendous diving save robbing Belfrage, keeping the game scoreless.

Arturo Vega (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic H.S.) netted his third goal of the season in the 28th minute of the game off an assist by freshman
Dimitri Ney (Grenoble, France/Lycée Pablo Néruda), his fourth assist of the season to put the Roadrunners up 1-0. MSU Denver finished the half with six corner kicks and six shots on goal; compared to the Hardrockers one shot and no corners.
Both teams played a more defensive game in the second half. The Roadrunners gave up the lead with under six minutes left in the half as the Hardrockers scored two quick goals. South Dakota Mines tied it up 1-1 with under five remaining and followed up with the go-ahead goal with just three minutes and change remaining.
The Roadrunners will return to the Regency Athletic Complex on Sunday, October 16 at 1 p.m. where they will face ninth-ranked Regis University.
