Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's soccer team (8-5-1, 6-3-1) upset ninth-ranked Regis University (10-2-1, 7-2-1 RMAC) on Sunday, October 16 at the Regency Athletic Complex 3-1 on Senior Day.

The Roadrunners were first to go onto the board off an outstanding individual effort from the freshman
Dimitri Ney (Grenoble, France/Lycée Pablo Néruda) netting his third goal of the season to put the Roadrunners up 1-0. Regis responded less than two minute later when off a goal from the top of the box to the top right to even the score 1-1.

MSU Denver finished out the half with authority when senior
Arturo Vega (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic H.S.) scored his fourth of the season to put the Roadrunners up 2-1 with under eight minutes to play. The two teams ended the first half level in corners at 3; with the Roadrunners holding the advantage in shots 3-1.

The Roadrunners continued to pressure offensively early on in the second half, and were rewarded off a penalty kick goal by senior
Josh Belfrage (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista H.S.) in the 51
st minute, his team leading 9
th goal of the season.
The game ended with the Roadrunners leading in shots, 5-2, and in corners, 6-3. MSU Denver improves their home record to 4-2-1 on the season.

MSU Denver next travels to Grand Junction, Colo. to face Colorado Mesa on Friday, October 21 at 7 p.m. followed by a match in Salt Lake City, Utah against Westminster at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 23.
