Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's soccer team lost to No. 5 Regis 3-2 Sunday, October 9.  The Roadrunners fell to 7-4-1 overall and 5-2-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.  The Rangers improved to 9-1-1 and 6-1-1 in the RMAC.
 
MSU Denver made it on the board first when Senior Josh Belfrage (Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista H.S.) scored his seventh goal of the season in the 19^th minute, finding the back of the net on a blocked shot. The Rangers tied up the game in the 34^th minute when Jake Gilchrist-Dudle received a pass from Sindri Kristinsson and was able to finish for his first goal of the season.  The Roadrunners outshot the Rangers 12-6 in the first half and earned six corner kicks to the Rangers three.
 
Regis scored its second goal of the game just five minutes into the second half when Colton Hefty collected a ball from the Roadrunner defense and finished his break away chance scoring his first goal of the season.  Belfrage answered back for MSU Denver 12 minutes later finding the back of the net for his eighth goal of the season and second goal of the game. Hefty would score the game winner in the 78^th minute scoring his second goal of the game and season. The Roadrunners outshot the Rangers 20-13 in the game and had the edge on corner kicks 11-4. Belfrage led both teams with six shots followed by Senior Arturo Vega (Tucson, Ariz./Salpointe Catholic H.S.) who added five.
 
MSU Denver returns home Friday, October 14 at 7 p.m. against South Dakota Mines at the Regency Athletic Complex.
