Men's Basketball: MSU Denver Cruises Past Colorado College in Exhibition

Dech and Williams Shine in Exhibition Game Against Tigers

Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team defeated Colorado College on Saturday, November 12 in an exhibition game at the Auraria Event Center.
 
Junior guard Sunday Dech (Perth, Australia/Churchlands H.S.) took the game over early on against the Tigers, scoring the first 14 points of the game for the Roadrunners. MSU Denver was able to separate themselves with the help of Dech's 19 points and a 12-4 run to lead 25-12 just ten minutes in.
 
The Roadrunners continued their run to put their lead out to 34-12 with six minutes in the half; not allowing a Tiger point in over six minutes. MSU Denver closed out the half 18 points off of turnovers and eight fast break points. Dech led with 21 points and five rounds with the Roadrunners leading 44-25 at the half.
 
Junior Cameron Williams (Omaha, Neb./South High School ) came out of the gates hot in the second half hitting three consecutive three-pointers early to put himself at 21 points on the game and give the Roadrunners a 31-point advantage.
 
MSU Denver finished their final tune up lead by Dech with 25 points, 8 rebounds and four assists. Cam Williams was right behind him with 24 points and six assists while senior Brian Howard (Maywood, Ill./Saint Ignatius H.S.) chipped in 12 points and five boards.
 
The Roadrunners held the lead in the game all but 32 seconds against the Tigers.
 
MSU Denver opens their regular season home schedule against Northwest Missouri State on Sunday, November 20 at 2 p.m.
