Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team (3-2) defeated Davis & Elkins 101-86 on Friday, November 25 in the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Cherry Creek Classic.

In the first ten minutes of the game, MSU Denver trailed Davis & Elkins 19-17. They took advantage of second chance points 4-0 over the Roadrunners and benefited from seven points off the bench.

MSU Denver fought back to tie the game 26-26 with four minutes to play in the first half. The two teams went back and forth despite missed chances from the free throw line by the Roadrunners; taking a 37-36 lead into the locker room.
Sunday Dech (Perth, Australia/Churchlands H.S.) led the Roadrunners with 12 points and three rebounds. Enrique Cortes Zotes,
Andre Harris (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb H.S.) and
Cameron Williams (Omaha, Neb./South High School ) each chipped in with six points at the half.

After a slow start to the second half, the Roadrunners built their lead to 56-52 with thirteen to play in the game. MSU Denver was able to extend their lead to 75-65 with 4:22 to play. Before fouling out with 2:59 to play, Dech finished the night with 21 points and seven boards.

MSU Denver proved to be too much for Davis & Elkins in the second half, hanging 64 points on the Senators en route to a 101-86 win.

The Roadrunners had six players finish in double-digit scoring in the win. Williams led with 22 points and nine rebounds.

MSU Denver returns to action tomorrow night at 7 p.m. against Bloomfield to conclude the Hilton Garden Inn Denver Cherry Creek Classic.
