Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team defeated Northern New Mexico College Friday night 78-53 in an exhibition game.
The Roadrunners dominated the first two quarters outscoring the Eagles by 17 in the second quarter. MSU Denver shot 55 percent from the field in the half. The game went into half with the Roadrunners leading 42-18 with junior
Emily Hartegan (Wylie, Texas/Wylie East H.S.) leading both teams with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Northern New Mexico put the pressure on in the third and fourth quarter shooting 47 percent in the two quarters and out scoring the Roadrunners in the fourth 19-18. MSU Denver shot a game high 62 percent in the fourth quarter. Junior
Georgia Ohrdorf (Wollongong, Australia/St. Mary Star of the Sea College) finished the night with a double double, having 10 points and 10 rebounds. Hartegan finished with 22 points and nine rebounds.
The Roadrunners take on Manhattan Christian College Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Auraria Event Center.
