Gunnison, Colo. - The Metropolitan State University of Denver volleyball team (21-3, 17-0 RMAC) defeated Western State on Saturday, November 5 in their final Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference road match of the season.

The newly crowned RMAC regular season champions took the first set over the Mountaineers 25-23, as Senior
Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) lead the way with 14 assists and two digs. Senior
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) chipped in with six kills and 6.5 points.

MSU Denver dominated the second set 25-18 over Western State. Through two sets Torr had recorded 24 assists while sophomore
Santaisha Sturges (Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) had six kills and five digs.

As they have done many times this season, MSU Denver completed the sweep, taking the third set 25-19 to continue their 18-game winning streak. Smith finished the night with 14 kills and 14 digs; while junior
Jackie Lopez (Encino, Calif./Notre Dame H.S.) added in 16 digs in the three sets. Junior
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) concluded the match with 11 kills.

The Roadrunners conclude their regular season play on Tuesday, November 8 against Colorado Mesa at 7 p.m. at the Auraria Event Center before hosting the RMAC tournament.
