Chadron, Neb.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's basketball team (6-4, 2-1 RMAC) defeated Chadron State Eagles 70-50 on Saturday to go 1-1 in its first RMAC road trip weekend of the 2016 season.
MSU Denver got off to a fast start opening the game on a 7-0 run, however Chadron State would respond with a 10-0 run to steal the lead. The Roadrunners fought back to finish the first quarter with a 7-0 run while leading the game 14-10. Junior

J'Nae Squires-Horton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek H.S.) finished the quarter with five points.
The Roadrunners would extend their lead to seven points to begin the second quarter but the Eagles fought back to get the game within one point. MSU Denver went on a 5-0 run to end the second quarter to lead 31-22 at half. Squires-Horton lead the Roadrunners with 11 points and senior
Jenae Paine (Oregon City, Ore./Oregon City H.S.) knocked in six points and five rebounds.
MSU Denver locked in on defense throughout the second half giving up 28 points and holding the Eagles to 25% from behind the arch. The Roadrunners were led by Squires-Horton with a season high 27 points and five rebounds. Ohrdorf almost completed a double double with 18 points and nine rebounds. The Roadrunners would use their defense en route to the 70-50 win over the Eagles.
MSU Denver will return home to take on Colorado School of Mines Friday, December 16 at 5 p.m.
