Chadron, Neb. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team defeated Chadron State on Saturday night 75-53. The Roadrunners improve to 16-9 overall and 14-5 in the RMAC while Chadron State drops to 6-17 overall and 4-15 in the RMAC.
The Roadrunners were led in scoring by senior
Tony Dobbinson (Stamford, Conn./Westhill H.S.). Dobbinson scored a game-high 18 points. Sophomore
Bounama Keita (Saint-Louis, Senegal/Impact Basketball Academy (Fla.)) posted a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Keita also tallied six blocked shots in the game. Freshman Enrique Cortes Zotes and junior
Andre Harris (DeKalb, Ill./DeKalb H.S.) each had 10 points.
In the first half, MSU Denver jumped out to an early 14-7 lead following a Keita layup with 13:20 minutes to go in the half. The Roadrunners would use an 11-2 run and a 9-0 run to build a 36-20 lead. Chadron State hit a pair of free throws just before halftime making the score 36-22 at the break.
The Roadrunners would gradually extend their lead in the second half. MSU Denver held Chadron State to only one field goal over nearly an eight minute stretch in the second half. The Roadrunners went on a 7-0 run capped by a three-point basket by senior

MSU Denver will return home to face S.D. School of Mines on Friday, February 19 at the Auraria Event Center. The game is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
