Denver – The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's tennis teams hosted Dallas Baptist at The Regency Athletic Complex at MSU Denver on Wednesday, March 16.  The men's team advances to 5-4 on the season, while the women's team falls to 4-8.

"The guys had great energy and focus today," said head coach Daniel Hangstefer "For the women, Courtney (Wright) continues to play at a very high level.".

The men's tennis team defeated Dallas Baptist 8-1.  The lone loss for the Roadrunners came in the No. 1 singles spot with sophomore Parker Jones (Ogden, Utah/Bonneville H.S.) falling 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.  Sophomore Brandon Nachbar (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon Campus) was able to notch victories in the No. 2 spot in both singles and doubles competions.  Nachbar defeated Anthonthy Burch 6-3, 6-1 in singles play and teamed with freshman Keenan Kaltenbacher (Colorado Springs, Colo./The Classical Academy) for an 8-5 doubles win.

The women's team fell to the Patriots 1-8.  The Roadrunners lone victory of the day came from sophomore Courtney Wright (Houston, Texas/Memorial H.S.) in the No. 1 singles match 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 over Ana Banic.  Wright and sophomore Emily Kerr (Winchester, England/Peter Symonds College) were defeated by Banic and Maria Fernandez 8-4 in the No. 1's doubles competition.

Both teams will host St. Mary's (Texas) on Thursday, March 17, at The Regency Athletic Complex.
