Grand Junction, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's tennis teams both fell to Colorado Mesa on Friday.

The women's team drops to 6-16 overall and 2-2 in the RMAC with the loss.  The Roadrunners did not pick up a point in the doubles matches despite some close competition.  However, MSU Denver bounced back and took home victories at the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 singles positions.  Emily Kerr (Winchester, England/Peter Symonds College) won her match at the No. 2 singles spot convincingly by a score of 6-0, 6-4.  Linying Xiao (Guilin, China/St. Mary's Academy (Colo.)) won the No. 4 singles match 6-2, 6-3.

On the men's side, the loss drops the Roadrunners to 8-15 overall and 2-2 in the RMAC.  Once again, MSU Denver was unable to post a victory in doubles matches despite some close competition.  Brandon Nachbar (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon Campus) and Porter Emery (Casper, Wyo./San Joaquin H.S. (Calif.)) each won their singles matches.  Nachbar took home a victory at the No. 2 singles position 6-3, 6-3 and Emery won at the No. 4 position 6-3, 6-4.

The Roadrunners will be back in action on April 22-23 for the RMAC Championships in Pueblo, Colo.
