Lakewood, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver softball team split a doubleheader with Colorado Christian on Sunday. The Roadrunners are now 22-12 overall and 17-5 in the RMAC.

The Roadrunners fell 5-1 in the first game. MSU Denver found itself down 4-0 after four innings. Junior
Hayley Fields hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning. Colorado Christian added another run in the sixth inning.

In the second game, MSU Denver won 10-1. The Roadrunners were able to jump out to an early lead. Fields hit a double in the top of the first inning to drive in two runs. Sophomore
Annika Anderson hit a double to drive in Fields, making the score 3-0. After giving up a run in the third inning, the Roadrunners exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning. Junior
Colissa Bakovich drew a walk to score a run. Junior
Brooke Lovas singled driving in a run followed by doubles by sophomore
Sarena Espinoza and Fields, scoring two runs each. Anderson hit another single to cap off the scoring for MSU Denver in the fourth inning. Fields picked up the win in the circle for the Roadrunners allowing only four hits in the game and striking out seven.

MSU Denver will face Colorado Christian in a doubleheader on Monday, April 4 beginning at 2 p.m. in Lakewood, Colo.
