Denver – The Metropolitan State University of Denver volleyball team begins its 2016 season under first-year head coach
Jenny Glenn on September 2-3 at the Concordia Labor Day Tournament in Portland, Ore.
MSU Denver will play Florida Southern on Friday, September 2 at 12 p.m. PT in the first match of the season. The Roadrunners will face host Concordia at 7:30 p.m. PT later that night.
The Roadrunners are coming off a 2015 season where they finished in a three-way tie for second place in the RMAC, with an overall record of 20-12. Junior
Ryan Hoerdemann (Littleton, Colo./Arapahoe H.S.) and seniors
Brandi Torr (Albuquerque, N.M./La Cueva H.S.) and
Vasati Fiatoa (Las Vegas, Nev./Bonanza H.S.) were selected first team all-RMAC following the 2015 campaign. Senior
Michaela Smith (Littleton, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) was also selected second team all-RMAC.
MSU Denver was selected to finish third in the RMAC in the 2016 preseason coaches' poll. Torr was also named the RMAC preseason setter of the year. Hoerdemann, Fiatoa, and Smith were selected to the preseason all-RMAC team.  The team returns twelve players and only adds one newcomer to the roster.
The Roadrunners will wrap-up play at the tournament on Saturday, September 3 at 12 p.m. PT against Missouri S&T and finish with a match at 5 p.m. PT against Western Oregon.Â
