Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team defeated Adams State 1-0 on Friday, September 23, 2016 for its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference win of the season. The Roadrunners improve to 2-3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play. Adams State is now 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the RMAC.

Elise Boisnard (Denver, Colo./Wheat Ridge H.S.) put MSU Denver on the board early in the first half, scoring a rebound off of a shot from Sophomore
Raegan Staib (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield Christian H.S.). The Roadrunners continued to put the pressure on through the first half out shooting the Grizzlies 12-5.
The score remained in MSU Denver's favor for the rest of the game. The Grizzlies best chance came in the 70
th minute when Maggie Carrico took two shots in a row with one hitting the crossbar. However, the Roadrunners came out on top and finished the game with eight shots on goal, while holding Adams State to just one. Leading MSU Denver in shots were sophomores
Reigna Banks (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield H.S.) and
Raegan Staib (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield Christian H.S.) and Boisnard. The trio each took two shots.
MSU Denver women's soccer will be back Sunday, September 25 at 12 p.m. at the Regency Athletic Complex where they will take on Fort Lewis.
