Denver-Â The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's and women's tennis teams start off the 2016 season Friday, September 9 at the Pueblo Duals. Both will face off against Texas-Permian Basin and Nebraska Kearney.

The MSU Denver men's tennis team finished the 2015-16 season 9-16, 2-2 in the RMAC overall. The Roadrunners return seven to their roster and welcome three newcomers. The team brings back three of its six players selected for all-RMAC honors for the 2015-16 season. Sophomore
Joey Tscherne (Sylmar, Calif./John F. Kennedy H.S.) earned first team all-RMAC as a freshman in both singles and doubles. Junior
Brandon Nachbar (Colorado Springs, Colo./Discovery Canyon Campus) was selected first team all-RMAC for doubles and second team all-RMAC for singles. Junior Callum Hayes was named RMAC honorable mention in singles. The men will begin play at 8 a.m. against Texas-Permian Basin Friday and face off again at 11:30 a.m. against Nebraska Kearney.

Daniel Hangstefer was name women's RMAC co-coach of the year. The Roadrunners will begin play at 10 a.m. Friday against Texas-Permian Basin and later face Nebraska Kearney at 12:30 p.m.
