Colorado Springs, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team (8-7, 7-4 RMAC) fell 2-0 in it second road trip game of the weekend to UCCS (10-4, 8-2 RMAC) on Sunday, October 22.
The first half was a balanced effort from both sides. Several chances for both the Mountain Lions and Roadrunners were saved by both goal keepers.
The Mountain Lions scored shortly after the second half began in the 50
th minute. Aleesa Muir was able to get behind the Roadrunners defense to find the back of the net for her first goal of the season.
UCCS continued to press the Roadrunners in their defensive half following the first goal. The second goal would come for the Mountain Lions in the 72
nd minute with Kelsey Lanham scoring her fourth goal of the season.
The Roadrunner were unable to find a spark throughout the rest of the half, falling 2-0 in the end.
The Roadrunners will return home to host No. 16 Regis on Saturday, October 28 at 11 a.m.
