Alamosa, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's soccer team (5-7-0, 5-3-0 RMAC) Adams State (6-5-1, 3-4-1 RMAC) 1-0 on Sunday, October 8.
The Roadrunners went at the Grizzlies to posting a shot on goal in the opening minutes of the half. MSU Denver would capitalize in the 19
th minute after an Adams State foul, freshman
Blake Miller (Yakima, Washington) finished a shot in the top right corner of the net for the go-ahead goal.
Both sides saw chances throughout the rest of the half, but the Roadrunners were able to hold on to their 1-0 lead heading in halftime. MSU Denver posted five shots on goal in the first half, with the Grizzlies firing two.
The Roadrunners were able to control the rest of the game and continued to push for another goal. The second goal wouldn't come for the team, but the defense held up strong, not allowing any more shots on goal in the second half and holding the 1-0 lead through to the end.
The Roadrunners will return home to host UCCS on Friday, October 13 at 5 p.m.
