Greeley, Colo. - The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's tennis team fell to University of Northern Colorado 7-0 on Saturday.
At No.1 singles
Valerie Valencia (Playas de Tijuana, Mexico/Bonita VIsta High School) fell to Anna Batterby 6-3, 6-3.
Courtney Wright (Houston, Texas/Memorial H.S.) was defeated at No.2 singles by Marissa Baca 6-2, 6-4. At the No.3 singles position
Tabitha Porter (Norwich, England/Northcote College) fell to Courtney Schulte 6-1, 6-4.
Emily Kerr (Winchester, England/Peter Symonds College) was defeated by Ella Mora at the No. 4 single spot. Linying Xioa lost to Remi Immler in a three sets at No. 5 singles 6-2, 3-6, 10-7. In the No. 6 singles match
Ainsley Winterrowd (Lacey, Washington/North Thurston High School) fell to Lily-Ana Kreutzer 7-6, 6-3.
The Roadrunners also were swept in the three doubles matches. At the No.1 doubles spot Xioa and Porter fell to Immler and Beth Coton 6-0. Kerr and Wright were defeated by Mora and Schulte 7-6 at the No. 2 doubles position. Valencia and
Ana-Jelena Vujosevic (Milano, Italy/Skednja Ekonomska Skola) fell to Baca and Batterby 6-1 in the No. 3 doubles match.
The women's tennis team will be back in action on Friday, March 3 when the team travels to Grand Junction, Colo. to face Colorado Mesa at 1 p.m.
