Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's tennis team hosted Hastings College on Sunday, March 12 and defeated the Broncos 9-0.
In doubles, junior
Courtney Wright (Houston, Texas/Memorial H.S.) and
Emily Kerr (Winchester, England/Peter Symonds College) swept their opponents in No. 1 singles, 8-0. Freshmen
Valerie Valencia (Playas de Tijuana, Mexico/Bonita VIsta High School) and
Tabitha Porter (Norwich, England/Northcote College) won their doubles match 8-3. Senior Ana-Jelena Vujosevic and Freshman
Ainsley Winterrowd (Lacey, Washington/North Thurston High School) completed the doubles sweep taking their match 8-2.
In a shortened singles format, Porter took No. 1 singles 8-3. Valencia defeated her opponent 8-1. Kerr won her singles match 8-1. Winterrowd took her match 8-3. Freshman
Mackenzie Hotan (Beaverton, Oregon/Southridge High School) nearly swept her opponent taking the 8-1 win. Vujosevic ended the sweep defeating her Bronco opponent 8-2.
The Roadrunners will take on Central Oklahoma on Monday, March 20 in Edmond, Oklahoma.
