Denver - The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's tennis team won the 2017 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament championship against Colorado Mesa 5-3 on Sunday, April 23. This marks the first tournament championship win on the women's side since 2004.
In doubles the women fell in two of the three matches. Freshman
Tabitha Porter and
Valerie Valencia won the No. 2 singles against the Mavericks 8-3.

The women clinched the championship in singles by winning four of the six singles matches, with one match going unfinished.
