Grand Junction, Colo. – The Metropolitan State University of Denver baseball team fell 3-0 to Colorado School of Mines on Friday night in the RMAC Tournament.

Dayne Rowley (Durango, Colo./Durango H.S.) took to the mound for MSU Denver. The Roadrunners gave up an early run on a single up the middle, a stolen base, and then another single. MSU Denver trailed 1-0 to the Orediggers after the top of the first inning.

The Orediggers received a tremendous pitching performance from Clark Martin. The Roadrunners managed only two hits through the first three innings. In the top of the fourth inning, Colorado Mines managed to manufacture another run and build a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom of the fourth inning,
Cale O'Donnell (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) and
Sean Kennedy (Aurora, Colo./Grandview High School) both managed to hit singles. MSU Denver would not be able to bring either of the home.

The game would remain 2-0 in favor of Colorado Mines through seven innings. Rowley exited the game after seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits.Â
Jordan Smith (Aurora, Colo./Cherokee Trail H.S.) would come on in relief. Smith would pitch only one inning allowing one run on two hits.Â
Jared Roley (Littleton, Colo./Heritage H.S.) came in during the top of the ninth inning and retired the next three batters. MSU Denver entered the bottom of the ninth inning trailing 3-0.

O'Donnell would strike out to start the Roadrunners half of the inning, Martin's 11th strikeout of the night.Â
Marcus Bean (Fort Collins, Colo./Rocky Mountain H.S.) reached safely on single through the left side. Kennedy drew a walk to put Roadrunners on first and second.Â
Hunter Donaldson (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge H.S.) grounded into a double play to end the game.

The Roadrunners finish the season 27-25 overall.
