Alamosa, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's soccer team (3-4-0, 1-1 RMAC) defeated Adams State (1-3-2, 0-2-1 RMAC) on Friday, September 22.
The Roadrunners came out on fire earning a corner kick in the first three minutes of the game. Senior
Elise Boisnard (Denver, Colo./Wheat Ridge H.S.) would follow up a minute later scoring her third goal of the season to put the Roadrunners up 1-0 over the Grizzlies.
MSU Denver didn't stop there. The team continued to put the offensive pressure on the Grizzlies, firing six more shots in the following 15 minutes after the early goal.
Adams State was able to create some offensive pressure to end the first half, but sophomore
Erica Torres (Bakersfield, Calif./Baskersfield High School) and the Roadrunners defense was able to stop what came at them, to send the game into halftime on top 1-0.
The fight continued for the Roadrunners into the second half, scoring the dagger in the 60
th minute.
Reigna Banks (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield H.S.) earned her first goal of the year hitting a solid shot past the Adams State goal keeper.
That would prove to be the last goal of the game, for the Roadrunners to take the 2-0 win. MSU Denver will continue its road trip Sunday against Fort Lewis at 12 p.m.
