Pueblo, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver women's volleyball team (8-6, 5-1 RMAC) defeated CSU-Pueblo (2-12, 1-5 RMAC) on Saturday, September 30.

Junior
Taylor Duryea (Logan, Utah/Sky View High School) led the Roadrunners with 12 kills. Junior
Santaisha Sturges (Parker, Colo./Regis Jesuit H.S.) added 10 for her team with 11 digs. Senior
Vasati Fiatoa (Las Vegas, Nev./Bonanza H.S.) had seven kills with a .636 attack percentage. Â

The Thunderwolves took an early 2-0 lead in the first set, however, when the Roadrunners took a 3-2 lead they would go on to never lose the lead throughout the rest of the set. MSU Denver dominated, leading my 10 several times to go on and earn a big 25-15 first set win.

The second set was much like the first with MSU Denver dominated the floor. The Roadrunners only allowed 10 points in the set and paried with strong offense, the team was able to take the set 25-10.

The Roadrunners continued the momentum into the third set with the team starting the break away early in the set. Although the Thunderwolves would put up a fight early on in the set, that would not be enough as the Roadrunners broke away again to take the match in the third set 25-13.

The Roadrunners will host UCCS on Tuesday, Octoer 3 at 7 p.m.
