Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver men's basketball team fell just shot against Regis on Saturday night 79-82. The Roadrunners fell to 14-11 overall and 13-5 in RMAC play.
The game started off fairly even between the two teams. Regis lead through much of the first half outscoring the Roadrunners 23-7 from 14:49- 8:00 to take a 15-point lead.
The Roadrunners fought hard at the end of the half going on a 11-0 run. Senior
Shane Fox (Colorado Springs, Colo./Doherty H.S.) buried two from downtown, having six of the 11 for the Roadrunners. The run would put the Roadrunners within three at half with a score of 37-34.
The rangers started the second half strong out scoring MSU Denver 11-4 to regain a lead.
Regis maintained a lead over the Roadrunners in the second half, however, MSU Denver showed a great fight. Sophomore
Alvaro Reyes-Abad (Malaga, Spain/I.E.S. Felo Manzon Grau Basas) buried a three in the last 30 seconds of the game to bring the score within three, but the Rangers would hold on to the lead to earn the win.
The Roadrunners will travel to UCCS on Saturday, February 17.
