Denver- The Metropolitan State University of Denver baseball team took its series against CSU-Pueblo earning the 16-4 win in game four of the series. The Roadrunners improved to 7-9 overall and 3-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Thunderwolves fell to 9-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Beecher Strube (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh High School) started on the pitcher's mound for the Roadrunners, pitching seven innings.
The Thunderwolves made it on the board in the top of the first inning taking a 1-0 lead over the Roadrunners. However, a grand slam from junior
Logan Soole (Louisville, Colo./Monarch H.S.) would kick off the game for the Roadrunners and be an indicator of what was to come.
The score remained 4-1 in favor of the Roadrunners through the second inning and in the third MSU Denver would extend its lead to 8-1. Soole would start the scoring once again in the third, earning his fifth RBI, sending senior
Trent Maloney (Castle Rock, Colo./Douglas County H.S.) home. Junior
Aaron Germani (Littleton, Colo./ThunderRidge H.S.) and freshman Jimmy Hollinger also earned RBIs in the inning.
CUS-Pueblo were held to just four runs and the Roadrunners went on to score eight more runs to take the 16-4 win to take the series 3-1.
Soole ended the day with five RBIs. Maloney, Germani and Soole all ended the day with three hits for the Roadrunners.
The Roadrunners will travel to New Mexico Highlands next weekend for a four game series.
