Greeley, Colo.- The Metropolitan State University of Denver baseball team fell 7-0 to University of Northern Colorado on Tuesday afternoon. The Roadrunners fell to 19-21 overall this season.
The Roadrunners loaded the bases to start the first inning following two walks and a hit by pitch, however, were unable to score on the Bears to begin in game.
UNC got off to a strong start in the bottom of the first putting two runs up on the Roadrunners on three hits.
Starting pitcher,
Beecher Strube (Casper, WY/Kelly Walsh High School) was able to hold UNC to just the two hits through the four innings he pitched for the Roadrunners.
Both sides had trouble string much offense together in the next several innings until the bottom of the sixth when the Bear were able to put three more runs on the board to take a 5-0 lead over the Roadrunners.
UNC was able to score two more runs in the next two innings while holding the Roadrunners scoreless to take the 7-0 win over MSU Denver.
The Bears held the Roadrunners to just four hits in the game while popping off 12 of their own.
The Roadrunners will take on Colroado Christian on the road this weekend with the four game series kicking off on Friday at 3 p.m. in Lakewood.
