Guard broke high school scoring records and played for quality JC program

DENVER – MSU Denver coach Michael Bahl has announced that guard Christian Wilson-Poole has signed a national letter of intent and will join the Roadrunners' 2019-20 roster.
 
Wilson-Poole, a 6-foot-2 guard, Wilson-Poole averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game this past season as a sophomore at Snead State (Ala.) Community College.
 
A native of Birmingham, Ala., Wilson-Poole played his high school ball at John Carroll Catholic, where he broke school scoring records previously held by NBA player DeMarre Carroll.

Christian is a very good athlete who can impact the game in a variety of ways. We are looking for Christian to have an immediate impact on our culture, and to compete for minutes. At the end of the day Christian is a great young man, and we can't wait to get him here for this upcoming season."

  • Averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game as a sophomore
  • Made ESPN SportsCenter Top 10 plays for spectacular around-the-back drive and layup at the national tournament
  • Played for teams that were a combined 50-15 in two seasons, including Alabama Community College Conference champions his freshman season
  • Shot 37.7 percent from 3-point range (26 of 69) as a freshman and was 10th in the ACCC in league play at 46.3 percent (19 of 41)
  • Career at Snead State: 9.0 points per game (541 points), 42.6 percent from the field (196 of 460), 33.2 percent from 3 (88 of 265), 70.1 percent on free throws (61 of 87), 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 0.8 steals.

  • School records include career points (900), points in a game (44) and 3s in a game (10)
  • Three-time selection to Birmingham "All Over the Mountain" team
