Kelling, Porter Among Nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year

Kelling among finalists for RMAC Woman of the Year

DENVER – Outgoing MSU Denver seniors Alyssa Kelling and Tabitha Porter are among the nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year.

Kelling, a four-year standout for the Roadrunners' volleyball team, is one of six finalists for Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Woman of the Year.

Porter was a four-year standout in tennis, and though that sport isn't sponsored by the RMAC, her nomination is under review by the NCAA's Committee on Women's Athletics.

Kelling finished fourth in MSU Denver history with 332 career block assists, eighth in total blocks (371) and ninth in blocks per set (0.99). She was the RMAC's Co-Academic Player of the Year in volleyball, was MSU Denver's women's athlete of the year and earned her second All-RMAC first team recognition. She was a two-time RMAC defensive player of the week in 2019.

Porter is MSU Denver's all-time leader in singles victories with 78 (no other player has more than 60), was the RMAC Player of the Year as a freshman and a junior, ranks No. 5 in program history in No. 1 singles wins (26) and No. 1 singles winning percentage (.625), and was the regional champion in 2017 and the runner-up in 2018. She was recently named the third-best singles player in MSU Denver program history.
