BOULDER, Colo. – In its first exhibition match of the season, Metropolitan State University of Denver women's tennis team went all in against a strong Colorado team on Sunday.
MSU Denver was shut out 7-0, but saw
Brooklyn Ross and
Kayla Myburgh win at No. 2 doubles, while Ross and
Isabel Heras pushed their singles matches beyond two sets.
Ross and Myburgh won their doubles match 6-4 over fifth-year senior Fleur Eggink and sophomore Antonia Balzert, but the Buffaloes got the other two doubles win to earn that point.
Ross managed to push her singles match the full three sets before falling to junior Sara Nayar 6-1, 5-7, and 6-0. At No. 4 singles, Heras forced a super set before dropping the 6-2, 3-6, 1-0 (10-4) decision.
