@MSUDenverTennis: Roadrunners Fight against Division I Colorado State

Roadrunners force two matches to super sets

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – MSU Denver wasn't able to pick up a victory Saturday, but it put up a competitive effort against Division I Colorado State in its season opener for women's tennis.

Both Kayla Myburgh at No. 5 singles and Lilly Stienemeier at No. 6 pushed their opponents into a super set before falling, while Isabel Heras played a first-set tiebreaker at No. 3 in the 7-0 defeat.

"I think the match was closer than maybe the score shows, but credit to CSU," MSU Denver coach Josh Graetz said. "We didn't do a good job of executing in doubles, and I felt like we were playing catch-up for the rest of the match.

"To the girls credit, they finished the match strong and probably could have won a couple matches at the end."
