@MSUDenverMBB: Oke Named to Academic All-RMAC Team

Besides starring on the court, he also excels in the classroom

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo – MSU Denver forward Laolu Oke, the six-time Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, excels off the floor as well.

The sophomore has been named to the Academic All-RMAC team in voting by league sports information directors.

Oke has a 3.58 grade point average while majoring in business management. He was a member of the league's All-Academic honor roll last season.

He leads the country in offensive rebounds per game (5.5), ranks second in total rebounds (207), third in double-doubles (10) and fifth in rebounds per game (12.2), leading the RMAC in all those categories. He also leads the RMAC in defensive rebounds per game (6.7) and is  fourth in steals (1.8).

Should MSU Denver's season not continue, Oke will have set the program's single-season record for rebounding average at 12.2 per game (in fact he could play four games without getting a rebound and still break the old record) and in field goal percentage at 67.6 (73 of 108).

He set a school record with 20 rebounds in one game, and also had a 17-rebound game and three 16-rebound performances.
