DENVER – MSU Denver Director of Athletics
Todd Thurman announced Thursday that
Janis Christopher will add head coaching duties for the Roadrunners' men's and women's cross country teams to her responsibilities as head coach of the men's and women's track & field programs.
Christopher has been with the program for eight years, including the past five as the head coach for track. She has also been the cross country assistant coach.
"Janis has done a great job as head coach of our track & field programs, and having her oversee the cross country programs makes sense both organizationally and for the direction of all of the programs," Thurman said. "With this promotion, the search is underway for associate head coach for cross country and track."
MSU Denver had one of its most successful seasons ever this past year in track & field.
The men scored 44 points at the RMAC Outdoor Championships after getting 30.5 points at the RMAC Indoor Championships. Sprinter
Blaize Holland won two individual events, while both relay teams finished second.
The women scored 19 points at the RMAC Indoor meet and
Erin Norton qualified for the NCAA Championships in two events, then the Roadrunners scored 14 points at the RMAC Outdoor Championships.
