PUEBLO, Colo. – Ava Neuburger-Higby earned a third straight singles win and four other teammates joined her in victory as MSU Denver cruised past Fort Hays State (Kan.) 6-1 in women's tennis.
It was the first win in three tries over the weekend for the women's team, which won't play another dual until the spring.
"I'm happy for the girls to finish with a win," MSU Denver coach
Josh Graetz said. "They deserve it. We have lots of things to work on this upcoming week in practice, but we view that as a positive."
Neuburger-Higby won her match at No. 2 singles 7-5, 6-1. Meanwhile, Nos. 3 through 6 players
Lilly Stienemeier,
Marie Cool,
Kayla Myburgh and
Monica Guarin won their matches by a combined 48-7.
