DENVER – After a nice win over nationally-ranked Regis, the MSU Denver men's basketball team appears to have stopped a midseason slide.
The chance to test that comes this week with a home game Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Colorado Christian that precedes a 7:30 p.m. game Thursday at South Dakota Mines.
"We told our guys (before the Regis game) it only takes one spark to start a fire," MSU Denver coach
Michael Bahl said. "Hopefully the win propels us, but we've got a tough opponent coming in Tuesday."
Tuesday is a Coaches vs. Cancer Night.
With the win over Regis, MSU Denver improved to 14-7 overall and 8-7 for seventh place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
But Colorado Christian, though just 6-14 and 3-11, also defeated Regis last weekend. Both MSU Denver and Colorado Christian also lost to red-hot Colorado School of Mines over the weekend and have a short turnaround time into Tuesday's matchup.
MSU Denver defeated the Cougars 66-59 on Dec. 14 and beat South Dakota Mines 57-52 on Dec. 18.
"We've got two games within five days after playing two of the best teams in the league," Bahl said. "But we'll get back to work and get ready for a really, really good CCU team."
