DENVER – Despite playing without two regulars and forced to forfeit at No. 6 singles, the MSU Denver women's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 win Saturday over CSU-Pueblo.
Only
Isabel Heras, who moved up to No. 1 singles, was challenged – she won 6-1, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8).
MSU Denver (7-8) lost only three games while winning the two doubles matches (MSU Denver forfeited what turned out to be an inconsequential contest at No. 3), and then lost only three games in the four singles matches played at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5.
"The ladies did a good job of controlling our side of the court today," MSU Denver coach
Josh Graetz said. "We were short on numbers, so those that played needed to step up and execute. I thought we did that."
