@MSUDenverMBB: Ficke Taps Glover as Assistant Coach

Former Division I player has spent four seasons coaching in RMAC

DENVER – MSU Denver men's basketball coach Dan Ficke has announced the hiring of Matt Glover as a Roadrunners assistant coach.

Glover has spent the past three seasons as the lead assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at CSU-Pueblo. With Glover on staff, the ThunderWolves developed two Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference first team players as well as an All-RMAC second team selection.

"We are very excited about the addition of Coach Glover to our coaching staff," Ficke said. "He is tremendous father, husband, and coach. His coaching philosophy and personal values are in perfect alignment with those of our program. Matt has a high basketball IQ and vast knowledge of the RMAC.

:He is a proven recruiter with strong ties locally in Colorado and to the west coast. Additionally, his experience as a player in college and professionally overseas will provide a great resource for our players to develop on and off the court."

Prior to CSU-Pueblo, Glover spent the 2018-19 season as a graduate assistant at Regis, and he had spent the 2017-18 season at Sheridan College (Wyo.) as an assistant coach. Regis had two All-RMAC first team players with Glover on staff, and Sheridan produced five Division I players and six Division II players with his help.

At Regis, Glover earned a master's degree in communication and leadership.

Glover played as a professional internationally in Georgia and Mexico for two seasons.

He played collegiately at Sheridan for one season, then at Penn State for one season, before finishing his career at Division I San Francisco. He was a two-year starter for the Dons, averaging 6.9 points and 5.6 rebounds while leading the team in assists in each of his two seasons. As a senior in 2014-15, he also led the team in steals and was second in rebounds – he was one rebound short of becoming the first player in program history to lead the team in assists, steals and rebounds in the same season. He played in 32 games and started 21 at Penn State in 2011-12.

Glover graduated from Tustin (Calif.) High School and was All-Empire League first team as well as All-Orange County while also earning All-CIF second team honors.
