DENVER – The MSU Denver Women's Basketball Team fell to No. 13 Eckerd on Friday night 72-59 despite knocking down five three's in the final period.
The Roadrunners were led in scoring by sophomore forward
Brianna Sealy with 19 points. Fellow sophomores
Ashlyn Yow and Mikylah Espinoza added 16 points and 10 points, respectively.
MSU Denver got off to a slow start in the first quarter shooting 4-for-14 from the field including 0-for-5 from three-point range. The scoring struggles continued in the second quarter and the Roadrunners found themselves training 36-19 at the half.
The Roadrunners picked up their offense in the third quarter putting up 20 points. Sealy scored nine points in the quarter. The fourth quarter saw the three-point shot come to life. Yow knocked down three consecutive three-pointers to give MSU Denver some momentum. However, it was not enough to overcome the slow start.
MSU Denver will return to action on Saturday, November 25 when the team will take on Seattle Pacific at 1 p.m. at the Auraria Event Center.
