DENVER – A cold-shooting MSU Denver women's basketball team was defeated 65-49 Friday night in a Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference game.
The Roadrunners shot just 28.9 percent from the field, including misses on all nine of their fourth-quarter field goal tries. MSU Denver did make 13 of 16 free throws in the final 10 minutes.
Mikylah Espinosa and Briana Sealy each scored 12 points for the Roadrunners. Espinosa had a team-high six rebounds, while Sealy had five boards and three steals.
MSU Denver dropped to 3-11 overall and 2-7 in the RMAC, while UCCS improved to 11-6 and 8-3.
The Roadrunners play host to Regis on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
"We really need to have a positive attitude and change our mindset," MSU Denver coach
Tanya Haave said. "We have to stay together, play together, and not give in to frustration."
