DENVER – The women's soccer and volleyball teams are both back home this upcoming weekend, while the men's soccer team has one game on the road in Lakewood. Conference and regional seeding are at-stake for all three teams.

The Roadrunners volleyball team is ranked No. 1 for the second straight week in the AVCA Top-25 poll. MSU Denver is ranked No. 1 in Division II for the third time in four seasons, which included a five-week stay last season. They were also No. 1 for five weeks during the 2021 season and for four weeks in 2022.

Jenny Glenn and her squad came away with two victories this past weekend. First, they took down the Grizzlies from Adams State by a score of 3-0. The offense was rolling hitting an astounding .356, as senior outside hitter
Maddy Williams led the way with her 10 kills and her .529 hitting percentage.
Always tough CSU Pueblo came to the Auraria Events Center on Saturday night, sporting a 6-3 record in the conference. But the Red and Blue perhaps put together their best all-around performance on the court that night. The Roadrunners outhit the Thunderwolves .381 to .069, 47-20 in kills, 10-2 in service aces, 44-18 in assists and led the way with 57 digs to 38. It was another 3-0 win for the volleyball squad, as they improved their record to 19-1 overall with a perfect 10-0 mark in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The No. 1 ranked volleyball team will host pod play this week, as both Regis University and No. 16 Colorado Mesa come to the Auraria Events Center. MSU Denver will take on cross-town rivals Regis Rangers on Halloween night at 6 p.m. There will be games, candy, a photo booth and a costume contest that night, so bring the kids and your best costume Thursday night. Friday night we'll see the Rangers take on the Colorado Mesa Mavericks at 6 p.m. Then the Roadrunners will face off against the Mavericks on Saturday afternoon in a battle of two of the top 25 teams in Division II. That match will kickoff at 4 p.m.

Our women's soccer team won its only matchup of the weekend defeating Adams State 1-0 on the road in Alamosa. Sophomore midfielder
Monica Yoder was taken down in the box in the first half and would finish on the penalty kick to give the Roadrunners their only goal in the shutout victory. The win improved their record to 8-3-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play.
Head coach
Kat Mertz and her squad secured a playoff spot in the RMAC Tournament that will start on Friday, November 8. MSU Denver currently sits in the third spot of the conference standings with a 7-2 record and 21 points. The top eight teams in the RMAC earns spots in the tournament and the Roadrunners are hoping to host a playoff game for the first time since 2012.
This weekend the women's soccer team will play its final two regular season conference games at the Assembly Athletic Complex. First, they'll welcome in the Mountaineers from Western Colorado on Friday night at 6 p.m. And then Coach Mertz will celebrate her seven seniors that following Sunday before they go toe-to-toe with Fort Lewis College at Noon.

The men's soccer team finished up their home regular season schedule with a 2-0 win over Adams State last Thursday and a 4-3 loss to Fort Lewis on Sunday.

Zack Williams, who made just his second start of the season, found the back of the net twice in the 2-0 victory over the Grizzlies. Junior goalkeeper

The Roadrunners now sit at 6-7-3 overall with a 3-3-2 record and 11 points in the RMAC. They currently sit in the sixth spot of the conference standings and play just one game this week taking on Colorado Christian in Lakewood.
