SEATTLE --
Ashlyn Yow connects on a go-ahead three-pointer with two seconds left to lift the women's basketball team to the 57-56 win over Seattle Pacific. The victory was the team's first this season.
After Yow's three-point bucket, the Falcons had two chances to retake the lead, but both chances failed to go in, improving MSU Denver's record to 1-4 on the year.
Three Roadrunners reached double figures, which included 10 from Yow, 10 from
Nevaeh Millard and a team-high 12 from
Mikylah Espinosa.
The 56 points allowed by MSU Denver was a season-low, as the squad forced 19 Seattle Pacific turnovers that led to 10 points. Both Millard and Espinosa came away with three steals each.
On the offensive side of things, MSU Denver came into the contest having made 10 three-point shots all season. But against the Falcons, the Red and Blue dropped in nine treys in 27 attempts.
Up next for MSU Denver is date with Saint Martin's University that will tip off at 2 p.m. MST.
