LA MIRADA, Calif. – Perennial Pacific West Conference power Biola (Calif.) won a pair of tennis duals against MSU Denver on Saturday, defeating the Roadrunners' women 6-1 before scoring a 7-0 victory in the men's matchup.
Hanna Haber earned MSU Denver's sole point of the day, winning her No. 4 singles match 6-3, 6-1. Haber also teamed with
Kambra Roles for a 7-5 win at No. 3 doubles, though the Eagles won the other two matches to clinch the doubles point.
The men's dual was closer than the final score indicates.
Alejandro Jimenez at No. 2,
Jeanloup Auzias at No. 3,
Alessandro Munoz at No. 4 and
Marco Jalalian at No. 5 all took their singles matches to a third set before being defeated. And No. 14 Nico Ramirez defeated MSU Denver's No. 33
Juho Kantola 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1.
MSU Denver continues its grueling road trip Monday against another PacWest power in Concordia-Irvine (Calif.).
