@RoadrunnerSB: Roadrunners Complete Four-Game Sweep of Mountain Lions

Pitching leads the way for the Roadrunners

DENVER -- The MSU Denver softball team has been phenomenal at home this season, and nothing changed with the UCCS Mountain Lions in town this weekend.

After taking games one and two from the Mountain Lions on Friday, the Roadrunners were back on the diamond today looking to take games three and four as well, and that's exactly what they did, winning 8-0 and 7-4.

Six innings was all game three took for the Roadrunners to take care of business. The bats were on fire for MSU Denver in game one as it scored eight runs on sixteen hits. Miah Hartvigsen lead the way, going 4-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Shelby Robb had a game as well going 3-for-4 on the day with two doubles, a single, and an RBI. The Roadrunners also received multi-hit games from Lexi Gephart, Genevieve Bower and Adriana Bueno.

The Roadrunners were able to shut the Mountain Lions out in game one behind a stellar pitching performance from Jenna Medhus. Medhus went six strong innings, giving up only four hits and no walks while striking out six.

Game two of the doubleheader was dominated by the Roadrunners offense. Kami Grammerstorf was the heart of the Roadrunners offense in the game, going 2-for-4 with two triples from the top of the lineup.

MSU Denver received yet another strong outing from starting pitcher Maddy Wilson. Wilson went six innings, allowed 10 hits and three earned runs while walking four and striking out three.

The Roadrunners improved to 29-7 (22-2 RMAC) on the year and look to stay hot next weekend as they travel to Alamosa, Colo., to take on Adams State.
