GREENWOOD, Ind. – MSU Denver's
Emily Hafner has been named to the CSC Academic All-America third team in women's tennis.
She is the Roadrunners' first-ever Academic All-American in women's tennis.
College Sports Communicators Academic All-America teams are voted on by sports information directors around the country.
Hafner advanced to the Academic All-America ballot after being named to the Academic All-District team, with eligibility for that honor including a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 for student-athletes in at least their second season of collegiate competition. Minimum participation requirements are also stipulated.
Hafner transferred to MSU Denver for her senior season and promptly finished as the runner-up at the ITA West Regionals, then won a match to advance to the quarterfinals of the ITA Cup, earning a season-high national ranking of No. 8.
She earned All-Pacific West Conference second team honors after going 20-13 to tie for fourth in program history for wins in a season. Hafner was also 19-10 in doubles.
She had a 3.97 undergraduate grade point average and recorded a 4.0 GPA while pursuing her master's of business administration with a concentration in business analytics.
