DENVER, Colo –
Kailani Nuhn scores the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute to help the Roadrunners earn a 1-1 draw with Regis University on the road.
The tie puts MSU Denver's record at 1-7-5 overall and 1-4-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Rangers are now 8-2-3 overall with a 4-1-2 mark in conference play.
This game was scoreless through the first 45 minutes. The home team outshot the Roadrunners 8-4, with a 5-2 advantage on shots on goal.
Regis jumped on the scoreboard first in the second half when Natalie Bunch took a centering pass from Fernanda Rodriguez and put the ball low at the far post to beat Roadrunners goalkeeper
Kayla Caballero for the 1-0 lead in the 58th minute.
It looked like the Rangers may sneak away with the one-goal win with the game heading below 10 minutes. But with 7:29 left to go,
Natalie Boragine sends a through ball up the middle to Nuhn, who uses the left foot to go low and far post to beat Regis goalkeeper Helen Stegner for the equalizer.
Nuhn's goal was her first this season and the second in her Roadrunners career. Her first goal came against New Mexico Highlands in her freshman season.
Caballero faced an onslaught of shots against the third highest scoring team in the RMAC and made a career-high eight saves.
Regis outshot MSU Denver 14-9 for the game and led their cross-town rivals 9-5 in shots on goal. Stegner made four saves to help her Rangers salvage a draw.
MSU Denver will next head to Spearfish, South Dakota to take on Black Hills State on Sunday with kickoff taking place at 10 a.m.
