DENVER — The No. 12-ranked MSU Denver volleyball team continued its dominant form Friday night, sweeping Colorado Christian 25-11, 25-18, 25-16 at the Auraria Event Center.
The victory marked the seventh consecutive win and seventh straight sweep for the Roadrunners, who improved to 16-3 overall and 8-1 in RMAC play. Colorado Christian dropped to 9-10 overall and 4-5 in the RMAC.
MSU Denver hit an impressive .397 as a team, with a balanced offensive attack led by Karyna Werley, who had eight kills on a perfect .571 hitting percentage along with 14 assists and two service aces.
Brooke Gennerman and Kryssa Moerman each added eight and seven kills, respectively, while Skyler Michael also tallied seven kills on .500 hitting.
Setter GabriElle Brewer directed the offense with 16 assists and two aces, and the Roadrunners dominated at the net with 14 team blocks, controlling play from start to finish.
The Roadrunners were stout defensively as well, limiting Colorado Christian to just a .132 attack percentage and holding the Cougars under 20 points in every set.
With the win, No. 12 MSU Denver moves into position to take sole possession of the RMAC lead and will have that opportunity when it hosts CSU Pueblo tomorrow night at 4 p.m. at the Auraria Event Center.
