@MSUDenverWSOC: Yoder’s Early Strike Lifts Roadrunners Past Western Colorado

GUNNISON, Colo. — MSU Denver women's soccer picked up a crucial 1–0 victory over Western Colorado on Thursday evening at Katy O. Rady Field, keeping their postseason hopes alive with just two matches remaining in the regular season.

The win marked head coach Katie Hooker's first road victory at the helm and the Roadrunners' first win since Oct. 3 against New Mexico Highlands. With the result, MSU Denver improved to 2–7–7 overall and 2–4–4 in RMAC play, while Western Colorado dropped to 1–12–4 overall and 1–5–4 in conference action.

Junior Monica Yoder provided the difference in the 6th minute, scoring her team-leading fourth goal of the season, assisted by Isa Durkin. The goal ties Yoder's career high for goals in a single season, and she has now scored in back-to-back matches for the first time in her career.

The Roadrunners dominated possession throughout, outshooting Western Colorado 15–8 and earning four corner kicks while holding the Mountaineers without a single opportunity from the flag.

Goalkeeper Kiley Hyde recorded her third shutout of the season, making three saves to preserve the clean sheet.

With the win, MSU Denver moves ahead of Western Colorado in the RMAC standings and remains in the hunt for the final RMAC Tournament spot with two key matches remaining on the schedule.

The Roadrunners will look to carry their momentum into Sunday's road matchup at Fort Lewis, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. in Durango.
